ABOUT
Advancing Utah’s Fight Against Cancer
Utah Cancer Registry plays a vital role in tracking and understanding cancer across the state. As Utah’s official state cancer registry, we’ve been collecting comprehensive cancer data since 1966 to support research, prevention, and public health efforts, such as the state's cancer plan.
State cancer registries like ours compile and maintain detailed records of all cancer cases and cancer deaths within the state. This data helps identify trends—such as whether certain types of cancer are increasing or decreasing, how many people are affected, and which regions are most impacted.
The insights we provide are essential to the U.S. medical and public health system, contributing to its mission of improving the health and well-being of all Americans.
Committed to Privacy and Security
Protecting individual confidentiality is a cornerstone of our work. Utah Cancer Registry adheres to rigorous data security protocols and confidentiality policies. Our team includes certified professionals who use state-of-the-art technology to ensure that all personal information remains secure.
CANCER STATISTICS
Utah Cancer Registry counts the number of new cancer cases and cancer-related deaths each year. The figure below shows the number of new cancer cases for the most common cancer sites. This helps inform research, prevention, and treatment efforts across the state. Prostate cancer and female breast cancer are the most common cancers in Utah.
